The A-CMC's research activities will effectively bridge the gap between nanoscale carbon sciences and carbon technologies of practical significance in the micro-/macro-world, ranging from carbon nanomaterials design and synthesis, through understanding and discovery of physical concepts, to fabrication devices for energy, environmental, and bio-related applications.

Carbon-Based Metal-Free Catalysts for Renewable Energy

Most recently, Professor Dai and his colleagues have been working on the translation of this top 10 Technology to a commercial reality by developing simple and effective methods for low-cost, scaleable production of high-quality C-MFECs.

Carbon for Environmental Remediation and Combating Climate Change

One of the main objectives of the A-CMC is to develop advanced carbon materials for environmental remediation and climate restoration.

Carbon for Biomimetic and Biomedical Technologies

Research and development in these areas will continue in A-CMC.

Carbon for Multifunctional Nanocomposites

In A-CMC, advanced multifunctional carbon nanocomposite materials with a high strength-to-weight ratio will be studied for building, automobile, aerospace, and stealth space technologies.

Advanced Manufacturingand Commercialisation

Several technologies, including C-MFEC and Gecko-foot mimetic dry adhesion, that Professor Dai and co-workers developed have been patented and attracted worldwide commercialization interests.
